Tanker caused oil spill in Vlora
Oil leaked from the "H.Ismail Kaptanoglu" in Vlora on May 24, 2016. The cause and quantity of the leaked oil was unknown, but the oil polluted about five kilometers of the local beaches. The vessel was performing cargo operations at the terminal in Zvernec at the time of the accident. All operations were suspended after the leakage, and the operator of the terminal was fined.
