Torm-Sovereign

The "Torm Sovereign" en route to Izmit during its stay at Evyap port suffered a palm oil leakage which was noticed from the vessel's pumping system on Dec 22, 2018. Subsequently, an investigation was opened by the local authority and anti pollution teams attended the scene. Pollution prevention barriers were placed around the vessel and the pier. A pollution fine was imposed by the local environmental pollution prevention department due to breach of local regulation as per Marpol rules. The vessel departure permission has been cancelled by the Maritime Authority until completion of the incident investigation together with the payment of pollution fine. The ship sailed from the Evya container terminal on Dec 30.
