Attack off Nigerian coast
The "Thor Infinity", while proceeding from Lagos to Onne, Nigeria, was attacked by armed pirates in two speed boats, in position 03 23 24N, 006 22 12E, approximately 43 nautical miles south of the Bayelsa State coastline on Jan 24, 2018, at 07.15 a.m. The speed boats approached the bulk carrier on the starboard side amidships and fired at the vessel. The "Thor Infinity" increased speed and after a short pursuit, the pirates moved away and left the area immediately. It berthed in Onne around 4 p.m. and sailed again on Jan 27 bound to Paranagua.
