Crane caught fire during loading operations
On April 27, 2019, at 8.30 a.m. a fire broke out in the mobile harbour crane 13 at the port of "Haldia" while a cargo of coal was loaded onto the "Pella". The whole area was covered the smoke. The fire rescue attended with 10 engines. Panic has spread among the locals as the fire was spreading rapidly. The port staff worked with firefighters to gain control of the fire. A shot circuit was thought to have been the cause of the fire. The tanker "Cevdet A" (IMO-No.: 9474450), in the adjacent basin was endangered too.
