Bulkcarrier suffered generator failure
The 'Pelagiani', while en route from Rouen to Algiers with 21 crew members on board, suffered a total loss of manoeuvrability due to a generator failure in position 49 58 52.0 N, 002 54 14.0 W, on March 17, 2020, at 2.05 p.m. The ship liaised with the HM Coastguard, and after the defect was repaired, the vessel was underway again around 3 p.m. with an ETA as of March 23.
STX Vessel Arrested in US Over $1M in Unpaid Bunker Bills
Troubled South Korean shipping company STX Pan Ocean Co. Ltd (STX) has had its charter vessel m/v New Ambition arrested in the U.S., along with its bunkers, following claims by World Fuel Services (Singapore) Pte. Ltd (WFS) it has failed to pay over $1 million in bunker costs. In documents filed at the U.S. District Court in Seattle last Friday, June 7, 2013, WFS say that around May 20, 2013 they delivered bunkers totalling $432,100 to New Ambition while it was in Busan, Korea.
