Medevac off Suriago City
Virgelio Palado, 59,, the captain of the 'Pearl Orient' was medevaced by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) after he suffered from mild stroke while sailing in the anchorage area of Surigao City on Feb. 5, 2023, en route from Davao City to Batangas City. A response group and the Coast Guard Medical-Northeastern Mindanao onboard Fast Patrol Boat 151 were sent out to give initial medical assistance to Palado. After his vital signs were checked, he was given a portable oxygen by the Coast Guard responders to improve his respiratory situation before being taken to a hospital for further medical attention.
