Third grounding since February in Suez Canal
In the night of May 5, 2016, the "Eibhlin", whilst coming from Narvik, ran aground in the Suez Canal. The summoned tugs quickly pulled the ship free and towed to Suez South Anchorage. There was no information on the cause of the grounding, but the bulk carrier has sustained bottom damage in grounding that occurred 143 kilometers into the channel.
