Bulk carrier rescued six castaways
Captain Chalong Labanluang and the crew of the 'Rattana Naree' rescued six distressed fishermen, drifting at sea between Tioman Island and the Riau Archipelago, in the morning of Sep 6, 2021. Upon sighting them, the ship's crew immediately initiated a rescue operation to bring them on board, where they were provided medical assistance, food, water and dry clothing. The fishermen wree from Indonesia and had been drifting at sea since their vessel had sunk in bad weather in the morning of Sep 1. They were safely disembarked at Batam Island in the evening.
