The Danish owned coaster Erria Vietnam assisted an American owned coaster when it suffered from an engine breakdown while at sea in the Caribbean area. The Erria Vietnam, flying Antigua and Barbuda-flag, was on a voyage from Miami to Isla San Andrés in Colombia, when Nera II (also flying Antigua and Barbuda-flag) sent out a distress signal. The Erria Vietnam came to the rescue and towed the powerless Nera II. After around 24 hours of towing the vessels reached the road off El Bluff, Nicaragua, where the engine repair will take place. The Erria Vietnam continued its voyage to Isla San Andrés. The Erria Vietnam, 2,500 DWT, was built at Saigon Shipyard in Ho Chi Minh City.
