Allision in Brunsbüttel
The "Ast Malta" twice allided with the wall of the New Northern Lock of the Kiel Canal in Brunsbüttel upon leaving it on April 29, 2019, at 8.20 p.m. The ship was enroute from Riga to Waterford. The ship touched the emergency niche cover on gate 1 and was slightly damaged. In addition, abrasions occurred on two wooden fenders. No injuries nor pllution was reported. The "Ast Malta" was allowed to leave Brunsbüttel on its way to Waterford, ETA May 3. Once the ship returns to Brunsbüttel from Ireland, the water police will conclude its investigations into the accident.
