Medevac off Charleston

The US Coast Guard medevaced an injured man from the 'Teal Arrow' off the coast of Charleston in the morning of March 24, 2020. The Coast Guard received a call from the ship on March 23 at 4:44 p.m. after a crew member had suffered a hand injury on the cargo ship which was nearly 175 miles east of Charleston and which headed towards the South Carolina coast. An Air Facility Charleston-based helicopter team was dispatched. to hoist the victim around 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday while the ship was 50 miles southeast of Charleston. He was flown to the Charleston Executive Airport on Johns Island and then taken to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
