Medevac off Ouessant
A 37-year-old crew member of the 'Buxfavourite', en route from Tilbury to New York City, was medevaced on April 18, 2023, at around 11 a.m. about 45 nautical miles from the island of Ouessant. The CROSS Corsen had received a call from the vessel with 22 people on board. At 10:55 a.m., a Cayman helicopter from the French Navy, with a medical team from the Cavale-Blanche hospital on board, arrived in the area. In a force 5 easterly wind, the hoisting began at 12:42 p.m. The patient, a Filipino sailor, was then taken care of at 1:47 p.m. at the Cavale Blanche hospital in Brest.
