One dead, two missing in collision
On Jan 31, 2020, at 5.45 p.m. the 'Pam Bonn', 945 gt (IMO: 7715496), was in collision with the motor launch 'Alcamar 1' about 20 miles from Yani Cove in the Lebu-Región of BiobÃo. The ‘Alcamar I‘ sank, one fisherman, the 54 year old Juan Luis Aravena Reyes from Cañete, who had moved to Lebu several years ago, was recovered dead. Initially two more were missing, and three were recovered with injuries. The body of Reyes was handed over to his relatives on Feb 1. On Feb 1 at noon the 'Bekael' which had joined the search in the morning, also found the body of José Contreras lifeless in the sea. The BiobÃo Zonal Directorate de Subpesca along with the Chilean Navy launched an SAR pperation On Feb 1 at 2.15 p.m. the 'Pam Bonn‘ entered the port of San Vincente.
