Crew member killed by wave
On March 14, 2023, at 9:41 a.m., the CROSS Corsen was notified of an accident aboard the 'Palladium', en route from Ust Luga to Port Said, 40 nautical miles northwest of Ouessant. A crew member was injured following the passage of a heavy sea on the foredeck. Immediate medical assistance was requested to evacuate the sailor, who was unconscious and in cardio-respiratory arrest. The CROSS Corsen engaged an NH90-Caiman helicopter, which took off at 10.20 a.m. from the Lanvéoc-Poulmic naval air base with a doctor on board. He arrived at 10.44 a.m. and hoisted the medical team on board. After several attempts at resuscitation, the sailor, of Filipino nationality, was declared dead at 11:32 a.m.
