Offshore supplyer attending grounded barge
The "Pacific Valkyrie" was standing by the Singapore-registered barge "POE Giant 12" which ran aground at Pedra Branca on Dec 26, 2014, amid bad weather. There were no reports of oil pollution or injury. The barge, which was carrying two bulk loader cranes, had left Singapore for Kuantan, Malaysia, on Dec 25. At about 6.45 a.m. the next day, it ran aground at Pedra Branca. Preliminary investigations indicated that it had turned back towards Singapore after encountering inclement weather, and subsequently ran aground due to the adverse sea conditions.
