The 43-year-old Rakesh Ranjan Singh, a resident of Ranchi, Jharkhand, the captain of the'ASP Avana', passed away after suffering a heart attack on March 18, 2026. The vessel has been anchored in pos. 25° 30' N 054° 57' E, approximately 14 nautical miles from the Strait of Hormuz since Feb 28, coming from Jubail, due to regional maritime movement being suspended amid the escalating conflict in West Asia and Middle East.
