Sailor deadly injured in accident off Luanda
A crew member of the "Pacific Avenger" died a few days ago on an oil field off Angola. The accident occurred on Block 17, operated by Total E & P Angola, during a refueling operation on the drilling ship "Saipem 12000". The loading hose was sucked into the port side propeller, throwing the sailor overboard. The man was recovered by a rescue boat of the "Saipem 12000"" seriously injured and transferred to the ship, where he received first aid by the ship's doctor. His condition required a medical evacuation. A helicopter was mobilized to transfer the man to a hospital in Luanda. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries during the transfer.
