Container ship MARCONNECTICUT hits fishing vessel in Taiwan Strait
In the morning July 27 local fishing vessel was hit by a passing freighter, which sailed away, in Pintang waters, Fujian province, Taiwan Strait. Fishing vessel’ fore portside was severely damaged, two fishermen suffered injures. Fujian Maritime Bureau figured out as main suspect in hit&run container ship MARCONNECTICUT, which was en route from Busan Korea to Hong Kong. Understood investigation team boarded MARCONNECTICUT on arrival to Hong Kong on July 27. As of July 30, vessel was en route from Chiwan to Xiamen, where investigation is to be completed.
