Ferry in collision with yacht
On Mar 1, 2015, the "Queenscliff" was in collision with a sailboat which had no control in stormy weather and rapid waves off Sydney. While the "Queenscliff" altered course to port to avoid the vessel, it could not alter dramatically due to the Sow and Pigs reef which was portside and the smaller vessel made contact with the back of the ferry. The yacht smacked hard into the ferry and looked as if it was going to capsize. The "Queenscliff" came to a stop, all crew were mobilised to render assistance and emergency services were called. Fortunately, the yacht had remained upright and its’ crew were safe.
