Engine failure in Dardanelles Strait
On March 22, 2022, the 'İbrahim Şimsek' suffered an engine failure and anchored off Kepez en route from Iskenderun to Kocaeli. Ship traffic in the Dardanelles Strait has been suspended in both directions. The ship was secured in pos. 40° 02.23' N 026° 19.05' E at 7.45 p.m. at the Karanlik liman anchorage under the coordination of the Çanakkale Ship Traffic Services Center, accompanied by a pilot and the tug ''Türkeli', after which the Dardanelles Strait was opened again to ship traffic in both directions. Repairs in Tuzla underway
On April 4 at 4 p.m. the 'Stadt Dresden' sailed from Yalova after completion of permanent repairs and satisfactory results were seen with life raft performance tests. It dropped anchor in pos. 37° 30.58' N 023° 52.95' E for orders on April 7. The 'İbrahim Şimşek' has been shifted from Tuzla anchorage to a shipyard on March 25 in order to carry out permanent repairs by technical teams. Repairs were completed on April 30, and sea trials carried out with satisfactorily result under the presence of class surveyor together with the owner's superintendent. The vessel was granted departure permission and sailed from the Tuzla shipyard bound to Aliaga.

The 'Stadt Dresden' was granted a single voyage permission to the Ambarli Kumport container terminal, where all cargo was discharged. Subsequently, the vessel returned to Yalova and entered a shipyard on March 20 at 6.15 p.m. in order to carry out permanent repairs. A detailed damage survey was carried out by a Class Surveyor. The Besiktas shipyard sent technical teams which have commenced permanent repairs as per class surveyor's recommendations. The 'Ibrahim Simsek' was shifted to the Tuzla shipyard area anchorage. The class surveyor together with the owner's superintendent carried out a detailed damage survey. The vessel, which had been bound to Aliaga, remained stationary at the Tuzla shipyard anchorage as of March 22.
