The "NS Star" was detained in Kocaeli on May 27, 2025, with 22 deficiencies, four of which being regarded as seriously and grounds for a detention: 1) Alarms - Steering gear alarm Inoperative 2) Fire safety - Remote Means of control (Machinery spaces) Inoperative 3) Fire safety - Means of control Not as required 4) Propulsion and auxiliary machinery - Propulsion main engine Not as required The vessel was released again on May 27 and left the port en route to Odesa. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063576908591

On Oct 22, 2010, around 10 a.m. the tug "Hunter" of the salvage company Noordgat towed the disabled "Paper Star" into the port of Harlingen. The ship had encountered troubles with its steering gear in the evening of Oct 21 and anchored around 30 miles north of Terschelling on pos. 53-50.3 N 004-54 E. The vessel had come from Szczecin and transited the Kiel Canal on Oct 19. After the "Hunter" had picked up the vessel, the towing rope snapped while entering the Stortegat but could be re-installed. The towage is expected to be taken over by the "Anita" in the Blauwe Slenk.
