An anchor lost by the Dutch dock landing ship Zr.Ms. ‘Rotterdam’, 12750 ts, in February 2020, off England, has now been recovered by the ‘Geosea’, which was chartered for this by the Dutch Navy. The anchor got lost during storm Ciara during a planned anchor maneuver near Plymouth. A part of the anchor gear had been damaged, causing the anchor chain to break. The ship continued its voyage, while the Royal Navy marked the position of the anchor so that it could now be retrieved. The ship delivered it on June 10 in the naval port of Willemsoord in Den Helder.

DOF Subsea has been awarded a contract for the vessel Geosea by Fugro. The contract will commence at the beginning of May and will potentially secure utilisation for a period of up to 3 months, if all options are exercised, the company said in its press release.

In the afternoon of Feb 7, 2018, the "Geosea" suffered an engine breakdown enroute from Fitja to Storebo in the Selbjørnsfjord. The Fjord-1-ferry "Raunefjord" (IMO: 9344772) came to assist, so that the departures at 4 p.m. from Halhjem and at 4.45 p.m. from Sandvikvåg had to be canceled due to the ongoing operation. Initially the "Raunefjord" took the research vessel with its crew of seven in tow, but later the "Ringafjord" took over.
