Hostages freed by Nigerian Navy
The Nigerian Navy reported the release of the Romanian Master and the Lithuanian Chief Engineer of the "Equinox" on Jan 1, 2014. Nigerian Navy forces stormed a hotel in Warri town in Southern Nigeria and freed hostages who had been kidnapped two weeks earlier under unclear circumstances. Two businessmen, German and Belgian, were arrested as plotters of the kidnap.
