Medevac off California

On May 10, 2023, at approximately 7:30 p.m., the Sector Humboldt Bay of the US Coast Guard coordinated the launch of an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew to medevac a passenger, who was suffering from symptoms of a stroke aboard the 'Norwegian Sun' off the Northern coast of California. Around 8 p.m., the aircrew arrived on-scene, hoisted the Canadian passenger from the Norwegian Sun, and began the transit to St. Joseph’s Hospital. The aircrew arrived at St. Joseph’s Hospital around 8:40 p.m. and transferred the passenger to awaiting emergency medical services.

On Jan 21, 2020, the Secretariat of the Navy of Mexico has coordinated the medical evacuation of an American tourist from athe 'Norwegian Sun' due to acute coronary syndrome. Personnel from the Secretaría de Marina-Armada de México met with cruise ship approximately one mile southeast of Punta Sur of Isla Mujeres after receiving an emergency request for a passenger medical evacuation. Rescue members departed from the Estación Naval de Búsqueda, Rescate y Vigilancia Marítima (ENSAR) of Isla Mujeres to remove rgw 74-year-old American ship passenger. He was listed in stable condition while being transferred to the Puerto Juarez Naval Station where a private ambulance transported him to a local hospital. Woman went over board off Freeport and was rescued

A woman has been rescued after she went overboard the 'Norwegian Sun' near Freeport in the Bahamas in the night of Nov 12, 2019. A rescue operation was immediately launched and within 20 minutes the rescue boat which was deployed by the ship rescued the woman. The 'Norwegian Sun' was heading towards the next port of call of Great Stirrup Cay, NCL’s own private island in the Bahamas. Once the woman was rescued she was provided medical attention from the ship’s medical staff. Her current condition was not known nor the details of her going overboard. The 'Norwegian Sun' was on a 5-day Bahamas cruise which included two calls at Great Stirrup Cay, a call in Nassau and Freeport. The ship arrived back at her homeport of Port Canaveral on Nov 14 after departing for the voyage on Nov 9.
