Ferry suffered oil loss
The "Uthlande", which underwent a routine technical dry-docking at Husumer Dock- und Reparatur GmbH & Co. KG until Jan 31, 2026, and ship returned to its home port of Wyk and resumed scheduled service on Feb 2, had to be taken out of servuce again on Feb 27, after an oil leak was detected in one of the four Voith Schneider propellers. Each of the four propellers operates independently with its own engine, gearbox, and propeller. While the ship can theoretically continue operating with only three propellers, this is not permitted during regular scheduled service. Due to this defect, the MS "Uthlande" was sidelined in Wyk/Föhr and must be dry-docked at the Husum shipyard again for repairs.
