On Nov 25, 2010, at 1.30 p.m. a fire broke out in the engine room of the "Normand Ranger" in the Byfjorden between Skolten Hegre and Neset. The local fire entstrengthened by the fire rescue Sandviken rushed to the scene, but the fire had already been contained by the crew. Isolation material had been ablaze. The ship berthed in Bergen, and the fire rescue controlled the engine room with a thermal imagination camera for remaining hot spots.
