Normand-Flower

On Nov 25, 2025, the 'Normand Flower' allided with the quay of the Nit Port Shipyard in Niteroi at the Ponta d' Areia near Niterói/Rio de Janeiro. The allision occurred during a planned transfer between two quays in connection with a shipyard stay. The offshore ship was reversing, but could not stop in time and struck the quay despite the assistance of two tugs. The quay suffered significant damage, and the vessel's port side stern was breached above the water line, with a water tank torn open and losing its contents. As of Nov 27 it was anchored in pos. 22° 51' S 043° 09' W. No one was injured in the incident. The "Normand Flower"was due to begin a new four-year contract for Petronas in December. Norwegian offshore vessel operator Solstad Farstad has entered into a contract with Fugro Netherlands Marine for the hire of construction support vessel NORMAND FLOWER for operations in North European waters. The contract will commence at the end March 2018 for six firm months.

A Houston-based Coast Guard helicopter crew medevaced a 34-year-old crew member on the "Normand Flower" on Nov 13, 2014. About 10 a.m. the ship radioed that the woman had an unexplained rash covering her arms and thighs. A rescue helicopter from the Coast Guard's Houston air station was sent to link up with the ship, located about 112 miles from Galveston. A helicopter crew member was lowered to the deck and made an initial check of the woman. She was hoisted aboard and flown to University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.
