CPO ENGLAND nearly Collision with ferry Landwehr in Kiel-Canal
Product tanker CPO ENGLAND nearly collided with docked local ferry at Landwehr in Kiel Canal between Kiel and Rendsburg on Oct 25. Understood tanker suddenly stranded off fairway and headed for embankment, contacting it some meters off the ferry. Passengers on board of the ferry rushed to the shore, one man fell overboard and was later hospitalized. Ferry suffered some damages, tanker continued voyage to Kiel and was detained on arrival, for investigation. Tanker was en route from Antwerp to Ust Luga, Russia.
