The ship “ZIM Texas” belonging to the Israeli shipping company ZIM, inaugurated last week a new service called ZCA Container Service Atlantic operated with 7 own vessels of 4,250 TEUs. This service directly connects the port of Algeciras with the east coast of North America (Algeciras> New York 10 days) and with the Eastern Mediterranean (Mersin> Algeciras 14 days). Rotation of the service includes calls at the ports of Ashdod and Haifa in Israel, Izmir and Mersin in Turkey and Piraeus in Greece.

A cargo ship container carrying 15,000 hygiene kits packed with shampoo, combs and towels left the Elizabeth seaport this weekend bound for Turkey to help Syrian refugees there (Aug. 20). The shipment is a project of a coalition of nearly 70 faith-based and humanitarian organizations that joined together to address the Syrian refugee crisis. The kits were loaded on the ship destined for Turkey on Friday, which was World Humanitarian Day, an annual reminder of the need to help the suffering.
