Cargo ship to be auctioned
On Aug 7, 2020, at 11 a.m. the dredger 'Vlaanderen XIX' will be auctioned along with the 'Basel Express' in Antwerp. The auction will take place at the Hotel ‘Hilton Antwerp Old Town’, Groenplaats 32, 2000 Antwerpen.
Arrested ship to be auctioned
The 'Basel Express' which has been arrested in Antwerp due to unpaid credit and crew wages since Mar 25, 2019 will be put for sale at a judicial auction by local court in the town. The date of the auction was yet unknown.

Experts suspected that the ship would be scrapped because making the vessel seaworthy again would be too expensive. With the money generated by the sale, creditors, primarily the crew, can be paid.
