Briton accused of smuggling KSh598M cocaine set free

The Kshs 598 million cocaine case against Briton Jack Marian has been thrown out. According to the Star, a report dated December 12, says the case has been withdrawn under Section 87 (a) of the Criminal Procedure Code. The same was copied to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and a date for special mention set for December 21 at Kibera law court number 1. “Reason behind withdrawal is that we are still waiting for further intelligence reports from Brazil and Valencia,” reads part of the said report. The accused was apprehended following the recovery of cocaine stashed in container MEDU 3333950 on the vessel named MSC Posetano. MSC launches new direct service from Middle East-Pak-India to East Africa

MSC has announced a new service. This new service is called the ‘Cheetah Service’ which will operate between East Africa, Middle East, Pakistan and India. It will offer direct calls to Mombasa, Dar Es Salaam, Mogadishu and Kismayu. Operated with five vessels of 2,200 TEUs, this weekly service will improve transit times and enhance delivery to those destinations. First sailing: MSC Positano, 07/09/16 from Jebel Ali Port Rotation: Jebel Ali, Karachi old port, Mundra, Nhava Sheva, Salalah, Mombasa, Dar Es Salaam, Mogadischu, Kismayu (every 3 weeks), Jebel Ali.

MSC Positano that brought in KShs360m cocaine goes missing from Mombasa port

The vessel – MSC Positano, at the centre of suspected cocaine haul worth Sh360 million was hurriedly sneaked out of the Mombasa Port following fears that it could be blown and sunk. Questions arose after another vessel MSC Nicole, which docked at berth number 16, was hastily ordered to offload its cargo, the Star reports. MSC Positano reportedly docked on 27th at 22:50 hours and left on 29th at 04:03 hours then MSC Nicole which docked on 29th at 05:15hours left on 30th at 08:30hours.
