Msc-Mia-Summer

The 'MSC Mia Summer II' was inspected in Riga on Jan 29, 2026 by Paris MoU officials. The detailed inspection covered the accommodation, cargo area, engine room, navigation bridge, decks, forecastle and steering-room, while a fire drill was observed. The inspectors found five deficiencies, but none of these were regarded as seriously and being a ground for a detention.

A crew member of the 'MSC Mia Summer', which was sailing 120 nautical miles off the coast of Larnaca enroute from Port Said to Constanta, was hoisted in the afternoon of Oct 18, 2020, after the Larnaca Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) dispatched a helicopter. The crew aboard the vessel sent a message to shore requiring immediate medical assistance. Once it received the call for help, the JRCC activated the Nearchos national search and rescue plan and dispatched a special police aircraft with a doctor on board. The injured crew member was transported to Larnaca general hospital, where he arrived at 6.20 p.m.
