Collision on the Western Scheldt
On March 28, 2025, at 2.30 a.m. the gas tanker 'Gas 85' (MMSI: 211515210) was in collision with the 'MSC Mariella' (IMO: 9934747), on the Western Scheldt near Terneuzen. After the emergency services were informed, The vessels were then escorted to the eastern foreport, awaiting the inspection. Rijkswaterstaat officers boarded the tanker, which was moored near the western foreport. After a good hour, the patrol vessel left again. The gas tanker had sustained damage to the railing along the deck.
