Detention in Zhoushan

The 'MSC Manzanillo V' was detained in Zhoushan on Dec 9 after arriving the same day and undergoing an initial inspection by port state control inspectors under the Tokyo Memorandum of Understanding on Port State Control. The inspectors found eight deficiencies, three of which were being regarded as seriously and grounds for a detention. The ship was released again on Dec 10 and left the port en route to Nansha with an ETA as of Dec 13.

Houthis claimed attack on container ship

On June 26, 2024, the Houthi terrorits allegedely attacked the 'MSC Manzalillo' off the port of Haifa as part of a joint military operation with the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, a coalition of Iraqi Shiite militias. This was stated by Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sare'e.
