On Mar 13, 2011, at 1.45 p.m. the "Iduna" allided with the middle head of the Northern chamber of the Brunsbüuettel locks of the Kiel Canal when passing westbound. The ship, which was underway from Gdynia to Hamburg, suffered a breach above the water line on port side, also the lock suffered some damage. The "Iduna" continued its voyage two hours after the incident and berthed at Hamburg at 6.30 p.m.
