Bulk Zambesi first ship to use new Beira coal terminal
allafrica.com reported that the first shipment of coal left the new coal terminal in the central Mozambican port of Beira on Monday. The Maputo daily "Noticias" said that the ship "Bulk Zambeze", which can carry 35,000 tonnes of coal, left Beira on Monday morning for the high seas where it will transship the coal to a Panamax vessel with a capacity of above 60,000 tonnes. The coal was mined in the western province of Tete by the Brazilian company Vale and is destined for the Asian markets.
