RT CHAMPION 9489950
The "RT Champion" was attacked jointly with the "RT Leader", (IMO: 9489950), by two pirate skiffs 830 miles off the coast of Somalia on Mar 10, 2011. The ships had a crew of 6, three Dutch and three Indonesians each. After the vessels radioed their situation, the Dutch fregate "De Ruyter" speeded from a position in a distance of 400 miles towards the scene and reached it on Mar 11. Though the attack meanwhile had been aborted, the "De Ruyter" escorted the tugs until they reached the port of Suez. Both have meanwhile reached the Red Sea.
