Freighter assisted distressed boat amid storm
On Dec 9, 2022, the crew of the 'Arklow Wood', en route from Rotterdam to Marseille, located a drifting boat 35 miles from Cartagena amid gusts of wind of 36 knots and waves between 5 and 6 meters and notified the CCS Cartagena of Salvamento Marítimo. The SAR boat 'Salvamar Draco' was mobilized to assist and rescues 10 people, among them seven men, one woman and two minors. They were taken to Cartagena, everyone was safe.
