The 'Royal Evolution' remained grounded on Block 4 of the Abu Dabbab Reef in pos. 22° 26' N 036° 38' E as of Oct 26.The passengers were rescued on Oct 24 at around 8 p.m. and brought ashore. Diesel fuel had leaked into the lower decks for most of the day. Several attempts to tow the ship off the reef have so far failed. The ship was listing some degrees to starboard side. On the morning of Oct 27, the 'Royal Evolution' could be pulled off the reef Abu Dabbab Block No. 4. The ship was floating free, and the Egyptian military has left the scene. There was no information yet about the damage to the reef. The fuel smell that some of the guests hadnoticed immediately after the grounmding was caused by a minor internal leak from one of the fuel tank valves, located in the bilge of the vessel. The valve was immediately closed, and the fuel was safely transferred to the sludge tank, all of which occurred inside the vessel. All fuel tanks remained fully secured, and the operator acted in full compliance with safety and environmental protocols. The vessel was scheduled to sail to Safaga for dry docking on Oct 28, where the keel would be professionally assessed and repaired.

The 'Royal Evolution' ran aground on a reef off Abu Dabbab on Oct 24, 2025, on the first day of a new tour from Port Ghalib. The ship got stuck on Block 4 off Abu Dabbab. Several ships, including the Extradivers day boat, the safari boat 'Antares' and the diving.DE speedboat, were on site to provide assistance. In addition, Bluewater Safari ships were also in the immediate vicinity to intervene quickly if necessary. Wind conditions on site were calm. All passengers and crew members remained on board of the 'Royal Evolution'. There appeared to be no danger of the ship sinking. However, it could not be freed either under its own power or with the help of other ships.The problem was the increasing ebb tide: the tide will be at its highest between 8 and 10 p.m., and it was hoped that the ship could be freed then. There were no injuries on the 'Royal Evolution'. However, a helper from another boat was slightly injured by a rope while attempting to secure the 'Royal Evolution'.
