Ronja-Superior

On Jan 13, 2019, the "Ronja Superior" ran aground at the entrance of Mallaig. The ship after having refloated berthed in the port to unload its cargo of fish. Only on Jan 23 operator Sølvtrans reported the grounding and that the ship was sent to the Solund Yard in Sogn og Fjordane in the Solund municipality on Jan 14 for repair of the damage, as well as annual maintenance 11 days after the incident took place. The ship is registered in the Norwegian Ordinary Ship Register (NOR), and thus has a reporting duty for this type of accident to the the Norwegian Maritime Directorate without delays there was a clear breach of the reporting obligation. The details of the grounding and the reason why it was not reported as requured were still uncertain. The shipping company must submit an accident report to the Directorate which carried out an inspection of the vessel. The ship arrived in Bergen on Feb 9 and left the port again on Feb 11, bound to Kyle of Lochalsh, ETA Feb 13, 4 p.m.
