Container ship boarded by robbers
The 'Seamax Darien' was boarded by perpetrators on April 29, 2020, at 11 p.m. at the port of Umm Qasr. They disguised as stevedores boarded the vessel. They had broken into the forepeak store and began to steal the properties by passing them to their accomplices on the jetty. The alert crew noticed the robbers and raised the alarm resulting in them escaping. The Port Authorities responded and were able to recover and return the stolen items.
