Suezmax crude oil tanker NEW LEGEND reportedly ran aground at around midday local time May 23 on 62 kilometer mark in Suez Canal, while transiting in southern direction. Four tugs were sent to assist tanker, which was partially blocking traffic. Tanker was refloated and completed transit in the evening same day, after safety check. There were no damages, NEW LEGEND left Suez at night May 23 and is under way continuing her voyage from Novorossiysk Russia to Vadinar India.

The oil sheens that appeared on San Pablo Bay had disappeared by Sep 22. The U.S. Coast Guardwas collecting fuel samples from oil tankers in the area and would send divers to inspect the "Yamuna Spirit" for a possible leak as it tries to track down the source of the spill.
