Tanker suffered fouled anchor
The 'Giannutri', en route from Fawley to Rotterdam with 19 crew members and a cargo of 34.524 tonnes of low sulphur fuel oil, reported a fouled anchor as it snagged on something which left the vessel with restricted manoeuvrability in position 50 34 40 N, 001 05 40 W, about seven nautical miles west of St Catherine's Point, Isle of Wight, on Jan 8, 2022, at 3.20 a.m. The vessel's engines are working, and no defects were found on board. The Solent Coastguard was in communication with the vessel and Southampton vessel traffic service (VTS) and monitoring the situation.
