The ship had reported the capsized 20-foot boat 27 miles off Jacksonville at approximately 2:30 p.m. In response to the possibility of a missing boater a Coast Guard Station Mayport, Fla., a 45-foot Response Boat Medium rescue crew launched at approximately 3:00 p.m. to search nearby area, along with an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter rescue crew from the Air Station Clearwater. Two Navy helicopters are also searching in the nearby area. An Urgent Marine Information Broadcast (UMIB) has been issued to alert mariners of a possible missing person, and a request to local marinas to check for accountability of persons has been made.
