Navy ships in collision

The missile cruiser USS "Leyte Gulf", 9.800 ts, of the US Navy was in collision with the "Robert E. Peary" during a replenishment operation in the Atlantic off the southeastern coast of the USA on Feb 5, 2019, ast 4 p.m. Both ships which were operating with the Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group suffered slight damages. The tanker sustained a gash of 20 centimeters length above the waterline, while the cruiser reported minor damage to its flight deck netting and two dislodged lifeboats. The ships headed to the port of Norfolk to assess the damage in detail.
