Emergency support ship assists in fire fighting in Iskenderun after earthquake

The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure General Directorate of Coastal Safety, deployed the 'Nene Hatun' on Feb 9, 2023, to assist in fire fighting in the Iskenderun Port after the earthquake. Turkey's first emergency response vessel (ERV) the NENE HATUN was built by the Sefine Shipyard at Yalova Region of Turkey, First time built in Turkey, the ERV is 87 meters in length, 19 meters in breadth. Minister Lutfi Elvan said that the total cost of NENE HATUN ERV project was 31 millions and 141 thousand Euros. Elvan stated that such projects has been vital for the Turkish Shipyards during the period of crisis.
