NDURANCE runs aground on Oude Maas, refloated and resumed sailing
Cable layer NDURANCE ran aground in the morning Mar 26 on Oude Maas, Dordrecht, Netherlands, in front of Spijkenisse Haven, right after she passed Groene Kruisweg Bridge, proceeding up the river. Vessel was quickly refloated with the help of a tug, and resumed sailing, reaching port of destination, Moerdijk, several hours later. No information on damages, steering failure most probably was the cause of the mishap.
Double naming ceremony at Keppel Shipyard for NDURANCE and NDEAVOR
On Jan. 15 during a ceremony at the Keppel shipyard in Singapore Royal Dutch Boskalis named the multifunctional vessels NDURANCE and the NDEAVOR. Both 99 mtr long and 30 mtr width vessels are built at the Samsung C&T corporation - ZPMC - Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co.Ltd. As both vessels are multi-functional at present both vessels are equipped with different equipment , both for different projects. The NDURANCE, is equipped with a large cable reel capable to handle upto 5000 ton of cable(s) and is due to leave very soon to Bali to install 2 powercables of 4000 mtr each between Java and Bali.
