Ferry repaired after engine malfunction

The ship had emitted large columns of smoke in the afternoon while maneuvering at the Juan Carlos I dock. The ferry was moored in another area of ​​the port. Seven Moroccan sailors who have not received salaries for months and were hundreds of miles away from home remained stranded aboard the "Le Rif" moored in the ship repair area of Genova. LE RIF, ex- IMTC, was acquired by a new Moroccan operator – Detroit World Logistic Maritime (DWLM) – in 2016 with a view to upgrading her and putting her into service on the Algeciras-Tangier Med route.
