Collision in Perama
On Feb 19, 2023, at noon, the Perama Port Authority was informed abouat a collision of the "Rigel II' with the ferry 'Ariadne' (IMO: 9135262), which was moving from the Perama floating tank. During its mooring maneuvers in the Perama repair zone, being towed by two tugs and assisted by another tug, it collided with the port side of the ferry, causing damage to the railings and the MES system (abandon ship system). The Perama Port Department of the Central Port Authority of Piraeus, which was conducting the preliminary investigation, the ships were banned from sailing until seaworthiness certificates have been presented by the attending classifiers.
