First shipment of Ukrainian grain arrived in Ireland since start of Russian war

On Aug 20, the 'Navi Star' berthed in the port of Foynes with the first shipment of Ukrainian grain to Ireland since the outbreak of the Russian war five months ago. The ship came from Odessa and reached the Irish port of Foynes at noon. Since the agreement that the UN and Turkey signed with Russia, a total of 27 grain carriers have left Ukraine. During a visit to Istanbul, UN Secretary-General Guterres praised the work involved in opening the secure corridor for grain from Ukraine. Guterres expressed hope that the agreement on exports of food and fertilizer from Russia and Ukraine will contribute to a peace agreement between the two parties. Next bulk carrier with grain sailed from Odessa

The 'Navi Star' was the next bulk carrier to leave the port of Odessa with a cargo of grain towards the Bosphorus. It sailed on Aug 5 at 6.20 a.m. URC with two more ships, among them the 'Polarnet' (IMO: 9758961), to follow from the port of Chornomorsk. They were carrying altogether 58.000 tons corn. The 'Navi Star' was expected off Istanbul for inspections on Aug 6 at around noon LT. The 'Polarnet' had an ETA at Derince as of Aug 7.
